The players are free to choose almost any character types. Hopefully, the characters should feel a strong loyalty to Hamilton, and fear the intervention of the Sabbat. Should Princess Geeta lose control, the characters will have to flee their homes, or they will likely be killed. Even worse, they might be initiated into the Sabbat themselves.

Besides the player characters, there are eight other vampires in Hamilton. Geeta (the princess), Randolph Camarin (C.E.O. of Dofasco), Raven (Randolph's genetic son and Childe), Harlequin (leader of Hamilton's anarchs), Roberto Bartoli (leader of the Stoney Creek - and therefore Hamilton - mafia), Angeline Bartoli (Roberto's Childe and lover), Blacky (owner of Blacky's Bar) and Drake (He Who Hunts).

The players begin this Chronicle as loners - apart from Andragar (their Mentor), they have never even seen another vampire before. How they handle their new lives, how they get along with the vampires of Hamilton, and how they fit in to the unfolding Chronicle is up to them.
